i updated my receiver to the yamaha htr-6290 for hdmi for blu ray movies and the picture is good but when watching satelite tv it isnt as nice as the pioneer elite vsx-56txi i had
is the pioneer a better receiver than the yamaha or is there something i can do to better the picture, the pioneer had no hdmi thats why i changed it, i find the component a better picture than hdmi..is there a difference if i bought a more expensive hdmi cable
I’m loving the ideas of all of this… ,but is that all it is? an idea? i haven’t seen any actual AutoHTN software for the Android OS. Is it out there and i haven’t seen it, or is it to be released?
Am I missing something?
I have a home theater in the family room with directv and arcam receiver. I want to connect my pc and two other hdtv’s so I can watch anything on my computer including itune downloads and my directv dvr on any of the tv’s any network ideas?
I noticed i get a better picture from my satellite box when using component cables instead of hdmi but better video from my blu ray with hdmi. Can i run hdmi from the bluray to the receiverand hdmi output to the tv when watching dvd and run component cable from cable box to receiver and component out to tv
when hooking up speakers to a hdtv do I have to unhook/disable the tv speaker to get the speakers to work?
trying to connect home theater system, i have cable box, dvd/vcr,tv, home theater. does it go wall cable to cable box, to dvd/vcr, to surround, to tv???? thank you, tim buschfan@comcast.net
Sorry to bother anyone out there but as I see there are many knowledgeable people here, I thought I was one until purchasing new equipment. I hope I can help someone as much as I hope someone out there can help me!!! I have been trying to connect my hardware in various configs but have yet to find one that ” works “. My equipment is as follows:
Harmon Kardon AVR240 Receiver ( Very intimidating manual and setup! Still not sure how to lock the speaker settings for use or set it up correctly!!!)
Comcast DCT3412I ( Comcast HD Box with DVR ( This box has an HDMI out but my TV only has component in’s
)
RCA ( DRC8052N ) DVDR ( I would like to record from my DVR in any quality possible as the DVR drive only hold so much )
Mitsubishi 65″ HDTV (WS-65869) This has PIP but as I understand the comcast box only has 1 output? (Can I split it from the wall without losing quality)
I would like to use the PIP on the TV when watching sports but that is the last thing on my mind at this point…
Any information as to how to have the rear speakers STAY on is appreciated. I had this hooked up to a smaller 52″ HDTV (VERY SIMPLE DIRECT CONNECTION) and the rear speakers worked but would shut off when commercials would happen during a movie on TV and I would have to “switch” my surround mode again to have them turn on again, only to have them shut off again when a commercial happened again (we all know how often that is !!!) I figure this is only a matter of setting the receiver to “lock” the setting, but am unsure how….I don’t think it matters but I have Klipsch rear surrounds and HUGE OHM fronts with no center channel yet……………………anyone out there with a suggestion for a nice center they are happy with???
Thanking all in advance.
