I’m curious if people are still having problems connecting HTPCs (or laptops) to their HDTV. I have a DLP which is about 3 years old now, and I had trouble at first connecting it to my HTPC. There were big overscan issues and the drivers for the video card were misbehaving. Eventually I got it to work using the component connection and setting up the video card settings to a resolution of 1152 x 648 pixels. I wasn’t getting full 720p resolution, but it worked so I was happy.
The video card drivers now come with HDTV settings so I set it up to 720p and have no issues. The VGA ports on most new HDTVs should also make things easier.
