I was given a Yamaha HTR-5830 receiver. It is still in the box. I want to hook it up to my Hitachi plasma TV. Any thoughts? I am a newbie to the audio world. Any suggestions?

Joined: Apr '07Sorry it took so long to reply back, been traveling alot recently. Looks like the receiver is an older model. There are no HDMI inputs or newer audio decoding capabilities or dual zones. That being said, it does have HD component inputs and 5.1 surround sound. Can't beat the free price.
