The specs look pretty equivalent to the Denon 3808 I own. Yours has 4 HDMI inputs, multi-zone, 130 W, HDMI upconversion, multi channel inputs, 7.1 surround sound, DTS-HD and Dolby HD capable ... Back to your original question, I would just not connect the HDMI cable from the satellite box to the receiver and connect the component instead. I know my cable box won't output the component signal if I have HDMI hooked up. Then keep your blu-ray player hooked up with a HDMI cable. You should be able to switch between blu-ray and satellite by switching the TV between component and HDMI and switching the receiver between blu-ray and satellite inputs (for sound). I think that would be annoying so is the picture quality really better with component? Usually its better with HDMI. It would be alot easier if you could just switch the receiver inputs. What receiver model do you have? You might have to play with some of the options on the reciever and you'll have to switch video inputs on the TV. I don’t see why not.
