Introducing my self

By mik100 @ Jun 28 2011 07:37 am

hi guys,i live in Corfu,Greece. I’m tryinging to make a deccent home thearte in my liviving room the last 2 years, and so far i’m enoying it a lot(very proud) i’ve got a receiver Yamaha RX-V3900 front speakers Klipsch RF-52 sub-woofer RW-10d ,and just built a HTPC -INTERTECH -2008-T .to replace a laptop that i got  with a hdmi cable running to my 40 inch Samsung  from my coffee table to my front wall.  I was wondering if there was any kind of small wireless touch screen so i could mirror my tv so i dont have to keep on changing channels on my tv,and that touch screen would also be a remote controll.  I’ve seen 1 on the internet called Air panel v110 but it’s not available for Greece. Thanks for listening to me, hope to get some info soon.

Home Theatre Cat6 Connect scheme

By Lotus6 @ Apr 25 2011 09:11 pm

Hi, I have some new equipment and was wondering if anyone would share their ideas on how to hook all this up. Basically I want to have wireless as backup so plan to hard connect everything. All components including modem and satellite receiver will be in same location by the TV etc in the family room.

1) modem

2) satellite receiver

3) power conditioner

4) receiver

5) 3d bluray player

6) 3d plasma

7) Wireless router

8) 8 port switch

all of these will be in Cabinet next to TV that is hung on the wall. All the components have ethernet ports and ability to reach the cloud and HDMI too.

For Ethernet connections I am thinking this setup for the Cat6 cables:

1) Modem to Power conditioner – 3ft Cat6

2) Modem to router – 3ft Cat6

3) Router to Switch – 3ft Cat6

4) Switch to Satellite receiver – 3ft Cat6

5) Switch to Receiver – 3ft Cat6

6) Switch to Bluray player – 3ft Cat6

7) Swith to TV – 12ft Cat6

8) Switch to laptop – 25ft Cat6

I thought I might be able to get some feedback on theCat6 hookups first. Many thanks in advance.

The latest AutoHTN update should fix the crashes at the advanced menu screen. Let us know how it goes.

Need help connecting HTN please

By bizwizkid @ Feb 27 2011 04:28 pm

I would really appreciate your help. I’m building my first HTN and am assembling some legacy systems. It’s a cool setup but, I can’t get my audio straight.

Here’s my components:

TV: Pioneer Plasma Display 503-PU. This display has two speaker outputs on it which can be used for the two attached speakers (which I can certainly use)

TV Tuner:  Pioneer PDP-R03U

Cable box: Scientific Atlantic Explorer 8300

Subwoofer: Sony SA-W305G

Attached are photos of the two tuners (Pioneer TV tuner on top/SA cable on bottom) and of the subwoofer.

I would really appreciate your direction on how I should connect the sub-woofer and the rear speakers.

Thanks much!img_2089
